Jeanne Beker received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the ceremony

It was ladies’ night on Sept. 21, as the Women Empowerment Awards came to the Shangri-La Toronto. The awards, hosted by Sportsnet’s Danielle Michaud and wellness expert Sonia Jhas, were created to celebrate the diverse achievements of women in Canadian business, leadership and community service. At this year’s ceremony — presented by Rogers with lead sponsor Mantella Corp. — awards were given in multiple categories, including Mentorship, Innovation, Global Impact and Entrepreneur. Canadian fashion icon Jeanne Beker was on hand to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award.
